Rail Professional contacted me to develop a database system to keep track of their client companies and the contacts within those companies.
The system provides an easy to use interface with various reports to assist Rail Profesional with the distribution of their magazine.
The system starts at a main menu where users can select the operations they wish to undertake.
Main Menu
There are two main forms
Companies Form
This is customer focussed and provides summary information about contacts within the company
There are quick link buttons that will allow users to view all notes/communications for all contacts at that company and well as print details for all that company’s contacts.
Contacts Form
This provides all the details of contacts together with any notes and details communications with each contact.
It is also possible to assign task due dates and produce a report of tasks due within pre-set time periods, 14,30,90 and 365 days.
There are quick link buttons that will allow users to jump to a company for a particular client, view all notes/communications for all contacts at that company.
From the main menu it is also possible to run a series of reports, and also to export data to Excel based on those reports.
I developed a custom ribbon to provide all the functionality required with no extra options that would confuse users.
