Flexible handout production system
The Disabled Living Foundation approached me to develop a database system that could interact with their existing Excel data and provide a quick and easy way to produce tailored handouts to their clients based on their individual needs.
The system links to an Excel file at DLF and provides dynamic drop down selection boxes for the therapist to select the various options from. These drop downs are populated dependant on selections from other dropdowns.
The user can then move selected items to the handout layout section at the click of a mouse, they can then change the order the items will be presented in, and then produce a custom handout by simply clicking the “Print Handout” button.
I developed a custom ribbon to provide all the functionality required with no extra options that would only serve to confuse users.
The handouts can easily be printed as PDF files including links to products and information on the Disabled Living Foundation website.
