Modification of two Access databases located in Europe and the USA, and creation of web application for analysis of scientific data.
The Databases
Anitox had a requirement to bring together data that was currently being captured in two different Access Databases, these databases have completely different data structures, tables, field names.
The first task was to produce outputs from both of these databases that would form a consistent input to the web application, this was quite a task as the database were recording measured values in different ways.
I embedded procedures in both the European and USA databases that would collect and clean the data and then FTP this data to the back end of the web application by the click of a single button.
The Web Application
I developed a password protected web application for Anitox that allows their staff to preform sophisticated analysis on the test results from the European and USA database.
The application allows the selection of many criteria, such as test date range, locations within Europe and the USA, ingredients, the company’s products and doses.
The test results display quantities, averages, counts and percentile values for various aspects.
